When I asked my readers what spring theme they nigh wanted to see, the majority voted for a Spring Plants & Garden theme pack.  I created 300 pages of printable books, learning centers, activeness sheets, and more than.

Each of my theme packs comes with a large assortment of picture cards and pocket chart sentences – all featuring real photographs.  I like to have a small sample from each new pack to requite abroad as a freebie.

Enjoy these printable sentences to employ with your garden theme!

To do the activity, merely print the pocket chart sentences from the download at the end of this post. I like to use this cardstock rather than apparently paper.

Then pull out your pocket chart (we love this i).

When we're ready to go started, I similar to put all the patently words in ane pile (pictured above) and all the words with images in another pile.

"Nosotros're going to build sentences well-nigh the garden.  Each sentence volition say something similar this 'This tater is from my garden.'  You can choose the vegetable for each judgement. Let's get started!  Where is this?"

"I want to exercise radish."

"This radish IS…  can y'all find is?"

"Here information technology is."

"Corking job! You found that one fast.  This radish is FROM… where is from?"

"/f/, /f/, from.  This is from."

"Expert piece of work using that showtime audio.  Next we need the give-and-takemy.  This radish is from MY."

"This word says my."

"Last word – garden!"

"/one thousand/, /k/, garden.  This says garden."

"Way to go! Now use this arrow to read your judgement back to me."

We kept building sentences until my 4 was ready to exist finished.

My preschooler isn't reading much yet, every bit he lacks a solid phonics foundation.

But our focus with this activity was to develop hispre-reading skills … distinguishing betwixt messages, words, and sentences; putting a space between words; and reading from left to correct.

Goal accomplished!
